Property owners in Medaryville who have been cited for violating the town’s ordinance on the removal of weeds, grass and rank vegetation will now have five days to clear the violation.
According to the ordinance amendment approved by the Medaryville Town Council members last week, the town maintenance supervisor said the time should be reduced from 10 days to five days to keep in line with the health, safety and general welfare of the residents.
Residents who allow grass, weeds or rank vegetation to grow longer than six inches in height will be in violation of the town’s ordinance. If the problem is not remedied in five days, the town will do the work at the cost of the property owner.
An appeal may be expressed in written form to be brought before the Medaryville Town Council prior to the end of the five day violation time period.
