The Starke County Commissioners scheduled another bid opening process for the Starke County Courthouse elevator project as no bids were submitted before the deadline of Thursday, May 31.
According to Starke County Auditor Kay Chaffins, the county was awarded a $500,000 K-IRPC grant and as part of the grant timeline requirement, a special meeting was to be held by Thursday, May 31 in order to open bids for the project. That requirement was met on time even if there were no bids to open.
The commissioners scheduled another bid opening meeting for Thursday, July 12 at 2 p.m. in the meeting room in the Starke County Annex Building No. 1 at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
