Bridge No. 36 on County Road 25 N. over Eagle Creek in Starke County will be open to traffic soon.
Starke County Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler told the county council members Monday night that only a few more items remain on that project including deck work to be done today (Tuesday).
“That cures for a few days and then they’ll get the guardrail in,” said Ritzler. “The approaches will be paved which will take another week and then it should be opened up. It will be opened up before school buses start to move.”
Bids for the project were opened in October of last year with construction beginning in June of this year. Ritzler mentioned that the repairs are more than a month ahead of schedule. The original completion date was Aug. 31.
