Fire Departments in Pulaski and La Porte Counties are the recipients of DNR Volunteer Fire Assistance grants.
DNR Forestry staff reviewed grant applications and selected recipients on the basis of population density, areas of public wetlands protected, and wildland fire reporting to DNR Fire Control Headquarters.
The Francesville Volunteer Fire Department was awarded $4,620 for water handling while the Monterey and Tippecanoe Township Volunteer Fire Department was awarded $5,000 for radios.
The Cass-Clinton Volunteer Fire Department received $5,000 for equipment while the LaCrosse Volunteer Fire Department and Noble Township Volunteer Fire Departments were awarded $5,000 for safety.
