HPV Oral Cancer Awareness Event Set for Today

 

The Badell Dental Clinic in Knox and the Starke County Health Department are hosting an HPV oral cancer awareness event today (Friday, Aug. 31) to deliver information about the Human Papillomavirus and vaccine.

Symptoms of HPV oral cancer include pain or tenderness swallowing, constant earaches, voice hoarseness, a sore that doesn’t go away, red or white patches, enlarged lymph nodes and unexplained weight loss.

Vaccinations for children are available at a primary healthcare provider or at the Starke County Health Department if Medicaid or Medicare health insurance applies.

Officials at the Badell Dental Clinic and the Starke County Health Department invites all to Five Star in the Knox Mall to pick up an awaerness brochure from noon to 5 p.m. CT.
