Kersting’s Cycle Center to Serve as a Stop in Motorcycle Cannonball Endurance Run

Motorcycle lovers should mark their calendars! Kersting’s Cycle Center and Museum in Winamac will be one of the stops along this year’s route for the Motorcycle Cannonball.

The Motorcycle Cannonball is a coast-to-coast endurance run done on pre-1929 motorcycles. In early September, more than 100 Cannonball riders will start on a two-week journey across the United States.

They will take off from Portland, Maine and end the run in Portland, Oregon. Riders will have a day of rest at the half-way point in historic Sturgis, South Dakota.

Riders will be stopping by Kersting’s at approximately noon (EST) on Wednesday, September 12th. The motorcycles will be on display from around 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Community members are invited to come on by to check out the antique bikes and meet the Cannonball riders.

The Motorcycle Cannonball run is regarded as the most difficult antique motorcycle run in the world. In addition to the American motorcycle enthusiasts who have signed up to participate, there are entrants who will be coming to the United States from six countries.

Keep an eye on the Kersting’s Facebook page for arrival times and Cannonball alerts.
