The Starke County Council and Starke County Commissioners will meet in a joint session tonight to look over the budget submitted by Sheriff Bill Dulin, required EMS reporting software, and Riverboat money.
The joint session will also include a monthly report from Starke County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Larry Wickert and Ron Gibson will discuss a tax abatement for Kemin Foods.
The joint session of the Starke County Council and Commissioners begins at 5:30 p.m. CT. The commissioners will meet in regular session following the joint session where they will discuss laptop price quotes and approval of the software contract for the Starke County EMS department. The laptops will go with the new reporting software program. IT Director Richard Franks is expected to talk about the CAD system for the sheriff’s office.
Other topics on the agenda include the bridge inspection contract, a credit card policy for Starke County Community Corrections, replacement of the curbs in front of the Starke County Annex Building No. 2, an appointment to the Knox City Planning Commission, negotiations surrounding the Starke County Economic Development Foundation contract, and a ribbon cutting ceremony for improvements at the Starke County Forest.
Both meetings will be held in the meeting room in the Starke County Annex Building No. 1 at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
