A person of interest in a fatal fire incident in Medaryville on Monday, Aug. 13 is being questioned in Louisiana.
According to Pulaski County Sheriff Jeff Richwine, Danny Clark was arrested in Louisiana after it was found that he had active warrants in Pulaski County for domestic violence, strangulation and intimidation. Detectives from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police made the trip to the Louisiana facility where Clark is being held to question him about the Medaryville fire incident. Sheriff Richwine stressed that no charges have been filed at this time and the action of extradition to Pulaski County is still pending.
On Monday, Aug. 13, around 2 p.m., emergency responders were called to the scene of a house fire in the 9000 block of County Road 300 North in Medaryville. Police say one person was found dead inside the home.
Pulaski County Chief Deputy Coroner Jon Frain has ruled the death as a homicide. The manner of death remains under investigation. The coroner’s office is awaiting the results of a DNA analysis in order to make a positive identification.
