A crash on U.S. 35 in rural LaPorte County Wednesday morning sent one person to the hospital. The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 7:20 just south of Schultz Road. Officers believe Rachel Tibbs, 67, of LaPorte, was driving south on U.S. 35 in a 2014 Ford SUV, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, traveled into a ditch, and overturned, coming to a rest on its roof.
Police say Tibbs had to be extricated from the SUV. Tibbs was flown to South Bend Memorial Hospital with an upper body injury.
