The Medaryville Town Council members opened up their Wednesday night meeting to a pair of public hearings for the proposed application for a Community Development Block Grant and the town’s 2019 budget.
Clerk-Treasurer Judy Harwood said that the public hearing informed residents that the town is seeking a Community Development Block Grant of $294,800 with the town’s match of $203,250 for a new water tower to be constructed across the street from the Medaryville Town Hall.
No public comment was provided and the council members gave the council president authorization to sign the grant paperwork for submission to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
A public hearing was also held for the proposed 2019 budget. The budget is advertised at $370,044 with the levy at $164,212. No public comment was given. The budget adoption hearing is Wednesday, Oct. 17.
