The Oregon-Davis School Board members approved a policy that outlines the proper administration of NARCAN.
Superintendent Dr. Don Harman said the corporation recently accepted a donation of NARCAN from the National Association of School Nurses through an education grant.
“The NARCAN is a nasal spray for the treatment of an opioid emergency such as an overdose or suspected overdose,” said Dr. Harman. “We did pass that policy and really the policy how allows our school nurse and school personnel to administer the NARCAN.”
The school corporation now has two boxes which contain four doses of the product that counteracts the life-threatening effects of an opioid overdose.
