The Starke County Commissioners will meet tonight
Starke County Sheriff Bill Dulin will discuss the addition of two positions to his budget for 2019. As he explained to the council, he would like to add a patrolman and jailer as the need is growing at the sheriff’s department. The council members said that he would need to get the personnel approved by the commissioners per county policy before they could consider adding the pay to the budget.
IT Director Richard Franks will present proposals for a new CAD system for the sheriff’s department and all departments in the county while Carrie Block from 1st Choice Insurance will discuss the insurance renewal. The commissioners will also have the assistant IT position evaluation. Clerk Vicki Cooley will discuss the number of active voters in the county.
Regular reports will be given by Starke County EMS Director Travis Clary and Clerk Mary Lynn Ritchie and Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler.
The Starke County Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. CT tonight in the first floor meeting room in the Starke County Annex Building No. 1 building on 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
