The Starke County Council members will hold several public hearings on budgets tonight. Those public hearings will include the budgets for Starke County, North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation, Starke County Airport, Solid Waste Department, and the Koontz Lake Conservancy District. A public hearing is also set for the Cumulative Capital Development Fund Additional Appropriation.
The council members will also consider an approval for full-time employees for the Starke County EMS Department and a grant appropriation request for Drug and Tobacco Free Starke County. Starke County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Larry Wickert will also deliver his monthly report.
The Starke County Council members will meet at 5:30 p.m. CT followed by the Starke County Commissioners meeting. The commissioners will discuss opioid legislation, an announcement of the ribbon cutting ceremony at the Starke County Forest, and complete and submit the paperwork for the CAD system and the grant received for the system.
Both meetings will be held in the meeting room in the Starke County Annex Building No. 1 at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
