A highly effective incentive program at Winamac High School was highlighted at this week’s Eastern Pulaski School board meeting.
Teachers Kevin Zupin, Gretchen Gearhart and Jeremy Wagner came before the board to talk about the Student Shout-Out Program.
Superintendent Dan Foster said this program kind of grew out of the student of the month initiative.
He provided some background, “Jeremy Wagner, our physics teacher and Mr. Zupin, they built a Wheel of Fortune Wheel.”
He continued, “Then the last Friday of every month, everybody is in the gym. The students get called down, they roll out a red carpet, they get a little, bedazzled crown and then they spin the wheel and we have some great gifts and prizes.”
Foster said the prizes are graciously donated by dedicated partners within the community. He added that this is a great way to bring some positivity into the school.
