Crews from the Knox Water Department will start flushing fire hydrants throughout the city beginning on Monday, October 22nd and will continue through Thursday, October 25th.
A news release from the Mayor’s office indicates that tap water may appear brown as a result of this procedure. The water is still safe to drink but it can be cleared up by running cold water from a bathtub or outside faucet.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Mayor’s Office at 772-4553 or the Water Department at 772-3032.
