Medaryville Town Council Considers Amendment to Noise Ordinance

The Medaryville Town Council members are considering an amendment to the recently adopted noise ordinance.

Clerk-Treasurer Judy Harwood said wording will be added to the ordinance that pertains to barking dogs. If dogs are barking for long periods of time, the owner could be cited for a violation.

A fee for that violation would be imposed which would follow what is already listed in the ordinance. The owner would be given a warning on the first offense. If the issue is not resolved, a fine of $50 may be imposed. Subsequent violations that occur within a period of 12 months will be $100 for a second violation, $150 for a third violation, and $200 for a fourth violation. Additional violations will be $250.

The council members will hold readings on the amendment in future meetings.  Click here to view the current ordinance.
