A North Judson man is dead, after a crash Monday morning in Kosciusko County. Officials with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department say it happened around 6:40 EDT at the intersection of U.S. 30 and 350 West. Witnesses told police that a 2015 Peterbilt semi was trying to turn left onto westbound U.S. 30, when the driver slowed down or stopped in the median. That’s when an eastbound Dodge passenger car reportedly hit the semi.

When emergency responders arrived, they found the Dodge underneath the semi trailer. The driver of the Dodge, Kristopher R. Reed, 40, of North Judson, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office. The driver of the semi, Piotr Lubecki, 45, of Wheatfield, was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation. The Atwood Fire Department, Warsaw Fire Department, and Lutheran EMS also assisted the Kosciusko County Fatal Team.
