Officials with the North-Judson Wayne Township Fire Department will be looking to fill two open positions after the first of the year.
Fire Chief Joe Leszek explained that during the department’s most recent business meeting, two individuals tendered their resignation, effective starting in 2019. He noted that they chose to resign because they’ll each be moving out of the area.
Leszek said he was grateful that the firefighters provided advanced notice about their intended departure from the department.
He explained, “We’re not having a knee-jerk reaction or anything, we can actually take our time and look for the right applicant for our department. So we can start looking through our applications we have and we’re probably going to post it again on our Facebook website just to see if there’s anybody else interested.”
Chief Leszek noted that both guys are leaving on good standing if they ever happen to move into the area again, the department be happy to welcome them back.
