The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation has a new assistant treasurer. The school board officially accepted Diana Hanselman’s retirement during a special session Tuesday, according to Superintendent Dan Foster.
“She’s been an Eastern Pulaski employee for 33-and-a-half years,” Foster explains. “She came in a few weeks ago and decided that it was time to focus on some other things, and we certainly wish her well and thank her for her tremendous years of service to our schools.”
Foster says the school board also approved the appointment of Tonja Good as Hanselman’s replacement. “She has a degree in corporate and institutional finance and has been working down at Greenmark here in Winamac for about the last seven years,” Foster says. “We actually had 21 applications for that position and we invited five people to come in and interview and narrowed it down to two outstanding candidates. And Tonja ended up being the pick of the committee and had great support from the board.”
Foster says Good was already on the job Wednesday, and he thinks she’ll be a tremendous fit. Also during Tuesday’s special session, the school board approved various changes in food service and paraprofessional staff.
