UPDATE: North Judson-San Pierre school officials moved the public interviews and appointment to Tuesday, December 4 at 5:30 p.m. The location remains the same.
The North Judson-Pierre School Board was one member short when they met last week. Since she officially left her position as the school board’s Railroad Township representative, Susan McCormack sat in the meeting as an audience member Tuesday night.
Board President Sheila Akers took a minute to recognize McCormack’s contribution to the NJ-SP school board, “I’m happy to have Susan with us tonight and to be able to say thank you on behalf of the board, but I’m sad you’re leaving.”
Akers continued, “I think I say for all of the board, thank you for your service we appreciate you being a part of our group and we wish you well.”
McCormack said she really enjoyed her time on the board. She noted that NJ-SP is headed in a good direction and said feels she’s leaving the board in good hands.
Following their regular meeting, members met in an executive session to consider three applications for the open school board seat.
Dr. Zupin noted that the selected candidate will be appointed following the interviews. However, the new member won’t be officially sworn in until the first school board meeting in December.
