All Starke County recycling collection sites will close as soon as Saturday, Dec. 1.
According to Starke County Environmental District Director Carrie Trent-Kuchel, the district is restructuring the county recycling system after major changes have come forth in the market for recycled materials. The collection bins will be removed from all collection sites by Dec. 1.
A single recycling drop-off site is being constructed at a new county recycling facility at 3835 E. 250 N. in Knox at the Starke County Highway Garage. The site will be open for use by all Starke County residents. Trent-Kuchel said the area will be gated and secured, and all material collection will be under supervision by all district personnel.
More information about the new county recycling system will be released as it becomes available.
