Winamac’s new drinking fountains have been installed. Now, the park board plans to recognize one of the donors. Two decorative drinking fountains were placed in the Town Park: an ADA-compliant fountain along the trail near the basketball courts and one to replace the fountain between the swinging bridge and the restrooms. The park board shared the cost of a third drinking fountain for Rinehart Park with the town’s Lion’s Club.
Park Manager Dave DeLorenzo told board members last week that all three fountains are now in place. “Still need to put some black dirt and seed around them, but I think they look pretty good,” he said. “The plaques are on them.”
Board member Jon Chapman suggested that a photo be taken with the donor of the two Town Park fountains. “She felt that would help motivate others to give,” he said. “If we haven’t done that, I’d like to see someone from the town office contact her to do that because I’d feel bad if we didn’t respect her request.” Board members agreed to proceed with making arrangements.
