Funeral services for 13-year-old Owen Abbott, of Winamac, are tomorrow and the family is requesting privacy.
In a statement released yesterday, Abbott’s family expressed appreciation of the community and family during this difficult time, but requests privacy as the next two days will be difficult. The media was asked to refrain from attending all activity surrounding today’s visitation and tomorrow’s funeral.
The WKVI and WYMR news departments had not originally planned on attending this event and respect the wishes of the family.
Funeral services are tomorrow at 2 p.m. ET at the Winamac Church of the Heartland. Memorial contributions may be given to the family. The Frain Mortuary in Winamac is handling arrangements.
Abbott lost his life in a school bus and semi truck accident last week on U.S. 31 near Argos.
