The West Central School Board members took action last week on several contract and salary items on the docket for discussion.
Superintendent Don Street said teacher salaries are calculated upon the 2017-2018 evaluations.
“The teacher salary is based upon observations, the state ISTEP, and state-assigned letter grades for schools,” stated Street. “Since the state finished with our letter grades, we were able to proceed with our certified contracts.”
Street added that the teacher appreciation grants were distributed as per state statute. The state provides money for those teachers who are evaluated as effective or highly effective.
The principal contracts were included for discussion. All contracts and grant distributions were approved.
