Eastern Pulaski Paving Project Problems to be Assessed by Contractors

Just a few months after a major paving project at the Eastern Pulaski Schools campus, some of the asphalt is already starting to crack.

Superintendent Dan Foster told the school board this week that Gibraltar Design and Rieth-Riley Construction will be back on Tuesday to assess the damage. “We’ve had some significant cracking in some of our asphalt, especially out back and over by the elementary area,” Foster explained. “And I think they’re going to take some core samples and do some checking on some things and try to figure out what’s going on there and why, and whether it either wasn’t done correctly of if it’s a warranty item.:

The $2.4-million project involved resurfacing the driveways and most of the parking lots on the schools’ campus, along with curb and sidewalk repair.
