In the wake of last month’s fatal school bus accident, the Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation may be retiring the number 16 as a bus number. The school board will consider a resolution tonight prohibiting the use of the number 16 on any of the corporation’s buses, out of respect for those affected by last month’s accident.
In other business tonight, board members will consider school calendars for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years. Next year’s proposed calendar calls for a first day of class on August 14, one week off for both fall and spring breaks, two weeks off for Christmas break, and a last day of class on May 29, 2020.
Tonight’s personnel items include the proposed extension of Athletic Director Bill Ball’s contract through June 30, 2020. The school board’s new and recently-reelected members will take the oath of office. The board will reorganize and appoint a corporation treasurer, deputy treasurer, and attorney for 2019.
Tonight’s Eastern Pulaski School Board meeting starts at 5:30 EST in the Eastern Pulaski Conference/Meeting Center, followed by a board of finance meeting at 6:15.
