Authorities report that medics, firefighters and police officers were dispatched to a single vehicle accident on State Road 8 (Culver Rd) around 8:40 p.m. on Friday.
Knox City Police Chief Harold Smith confirmed that a vehicle struck a utility pole near the Golden Living Center, snapping it in half.
The status of the driver and the cause of the accident have not been released publicly at this time. More information will be provided if and when it becomes available.
