Firefighters were called to a pole barn fire in the 10,900 East block of 150 N. Monday morning.
Washington Township Fire Department officials told WKVI News that the pole barn was fully engulfed in flames when volunteer firefighters arrived at the scene a little after 10:30 a.m. They were at the scene for about three hours. The structure was deemed a total loss.
Due to extensive damage, an investigator with the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office reportedly could not determine the cause or origin of the fire.
The Washington Township Fire Department was assisted by the Knox-Center Township Fire Department, the Hamlet-Davis Township Fire Department, and Starke County EMS.
