The Starke County Council members will meet tonight where they will consider a request from Sheriff Bill Dulin about the creation of new funds based on home rule local funds. Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler will present a request for a CEDIT appropriation and the council will also receive an update from Coroner Jack Rosa, a discussion on personnel with Clerk Bernadette Welter Manuel, and consider a transfer request from the 2018 commissioner’s budget.
The Starke County Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. CT followed by the Starke County Commissioners meeting.
Bids will be opened with a possible bid award for a highway project, EMS Clerk Mary Lynn Ritchie will present a professional services agreement amendment, and officials from the Starke County Economic Development Foundation will have a SCILL draft grant.
Sheriff Dulin will talk more about several ordinances he presented at the last meeting including dogs running at large, false alarm calls, and a golf cart ordinance amendment. Other ordinances may be presented including one that requires a booking fee.
Both meetings will be held in the meeting room in the Starke County Annex Building No. 1 at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
