Knox Board of Works Members Approve Fire Truck Change Orders

A few different change orders related a recent fire truck purchase came before the Knox Board of Works members Wednesday morning.

Change Order #1 was approved by the Board of Works members in a past meeting. However, Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston explained that an amendment was needed.

He noted, “When we okayed this Change Order #1, it said amount due: $0 on it and it should have said amount due: $5,592.”

Houston noted that after factoring in the figure associated with the approved changes, they’re still within the borrowing limit that was established for the purchase of the truck.

Members voted unanimously to approve the amendment for change order #1. That document included approximately 50 different items such as various truck accessories and additional costs related to the vehicle’s construction.

Another change order totaling $460 came before board members for approval. The cost of Change Order #2 included the removal of hose bed numbers and the addition of two pump panel switches for the telescoping lights. That change order was also approved with no opposition.
