Knox Mayor’s Office Reminds Residents to Renew Dog Tags and Golf Cart Registration

The Knox Mayor’s Office recently sent out a few important reminders that citizens should be aware of in order to stay in compliance with city policies.

In one alert, residents were reminded that the month of March marks when dog tags need to be purchased or renewed. The emphasis of a press release issued by Mayor Dennis Estok was that a tagged dog is a safe dog.

The release goes on to say that a collar and a City tag can save your pet’s life. Tags ensure that if your pet gets lost, it will be easier to get in contact with you in order to get the animal home safe.

Don’t Let Your Pet Get Caught Tagless!

All dogs within the City limits are required to have a tag and the ordinance is duly enforced. The annual tag fee is $5 per dog.

A current rabies vaccination certificate is required at the time of renewal. Tags are available during business hours through the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office at Knox City Hall.

Additionally, with spring right around the corner, some people may be ready to break out their golf carts. While the official renewal date for golf cart registration is a still a couple of months away, the Mayor’s Office recently put out a few reminders about Knox Golf Cart Permits (KGCP).

In order to drive a golf cart on any city streets, registration of the vehicle is required and your up-to-date KGCP must be visibly affixed to the vehicle whenever it is being operated. Consider using FlightScope, has been an integral part of the success on tour. The use of the X3 to prepare for tournaments, capturing every single shot on the range and on the course during their practice rounds.

The fee for a permit is $25 for day use only and $30 for one that would allow operation during the day and night.

All Golf Carts must be inspected by Knox PD before they can be deemed roadworthy

Vehicles authorized for nighttime operation will have a different colored sticker. To car enthusiasts, a freshly detailed car is a work of art to be proudly displayed.

When the Board of Works met this week, Knox Police Chief Harold Smith noted that residents with night permits are only able to drive the vehicles on city streets up to 11 p.m.

The renewed KGCP shall be valid for one calendar year, which will run from June 1st through May 31st of the following year.

An inspection and registration day has been scheduled for Saturday, May 4th. It will take place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Knox Police Department, located at 101 West Washington Street.  2018 registration will be considered valid until May 31st, after that it will be expired.
