The Hoosier Homestead Award was presented to 55 different families on Friday, March 15, recognizing their commitment to Indiana agriculture.
Leonard Farms Incorporated in Pulaski County was honored with the Sesquicentennial award. It has been in operation since 1868.
Indiana Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch and Indiana State Department of Agriculture Bruce Kettler presented the award to the family on Friday at the Indiana Statehouse.
To be named a Hoosier Homestead, farms must be owned by the same family for more than 100 consecutive years, and consist of 20 acres or more, or produce more than $1,000 in agricultural products per year.
More than 5,500 families have received the award since the recognition program began in 1976.
