The Starke County Commissioners received notice from IT Director Richard Franks that the radio equipment on the water towers in North Judson will need to move as the towers are painted and rehabilitated.
The work will take three months for each of the two towers. County Attorney Marty Lucas commented that when the move occurs it will be difficult to maintain coverage for the fire department and emergency personnel during this project.
A quote to move the equipment was forwarded to the commissioners for consideration, but a different vendor may be used for radio service soon. J&K Communications provided a quote and another quote is anticipated from Miner Electronics. The commissioners agreed to table a decision until their meeting in April to award a quote for the needed move.
