Winamac Councilman Addresses Traffic Light Concerns During INDOT Presentation

Seemingly faulty traffic lights were brought up at last Monday’s Winamac Town Council meeting during a presentation provided by an Indiana Department of Transportation representative.

Councilman Alvin Parish asked INDOT Project Manager Tim Hoffa who they should contact about traffic lights.

He voiced some concerns stating, “When they first put these in, these new ones, they were timing really nice. They’ve got them so messed up now, they’re horrible.”

Hoffa noted that while that is not his department, he knows that sometimes power outages can result in the lights resetting. He informed members about who the point of contact would be in order to have that issue addressed.

He explained, “We have a traffic department and they cover the La Porte district.”

Hoffa continued, “The La Porte district is a significant size but if there is an issue, if you notice one is not operating properly, you just call into their mainline and they’ll get you in contact with the traffic department.”
