Another township fire contract came before the Winamac Town Council when they met last week.
At their February meeting, members approved contracts for Tippecanoe, Rich Grove, Harrison and Monroe Townships. Those were four out of the six townships that receive services from the Winamac Fire Department.
At last Monday’s meeting, Clerk-Treasurer Melanie Berger presented members with the Jefferson Township fire contract.
Each township is charged a different annual fee for services. Jefferson Township’s contract was unchanged from last year and they pay $3,078.64. The payments are collected in separate installments twice a year.
Members unanimously approved the contract. The only one that still needs to come before the board for approval is the contact with Franklin Township.
