Knox officials are expecting a big turn out for the annual Prayer Breakfast next month.
Mayor Dennis Estok let city council members know what’s happening with the event when they met Tuesday night.
He explained, “The Prayer Breakfast on May the 2nd is sold out, we have no more seats available. This will probably be the largest we’ve ever had with 38 tables and 8 at each table.”
Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston previously shared the keynote speaker for the event will be Mark Bailey.
Residents are reminded that tickets will not be sold at the door. The reason officials started pre-selling is so they can get an accurate headcount for the catered breakfast that’s provided.
Mayor Estok mentioned that while the deadline to get tickets was last Monday, he’s been getting some calls from people who missed their chance to attend. He noted that he hates to have to turn people away but there are no seats remaining so no exceptions can be made.
