Knox city officials are waiting to hear back from administrators about the eligibility status of residents who submitted applications for the Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Grant.
Mayor Dennis Estok told city council members Tuesday night that the call-out meeting in March went well. However, he did mention that some individuals were told they could not apply since they were buying on land contract.
The applications that were submitted by home-owners who followed through with the process are currently being reviewed by officials from Neighborhood Development Associates. Mayor Estok said that company is the grant administrator and noted that they’ll go over the information provided and decipher who qualifies and who does not.
Mayor Estok explained that the grant calls for the rehabilitation of 10 homes. He added, “If we do not get 10 good applicants then we’ll have a call out for another round.”
He noted that officials won’t make any plans for the future call-out until they hear back from Neighborhood Development about the submitted applications.
