Since Pulaski County won’t have to hold a primary election this year, a resolution saying how much money the county will save will be up for approval tonight. The county election board is expected to consider the resolution when it meets tonight at 5:30 EDT. The resolution would then go to the county commissioners at their 6:00 p.m. meeting. Both meetings will be held in the Pulaski County Courthouse.
Clerk JoLynn Behny says it’s a required step, as part of the process of not having a primary. Based on this year’s budget, Behny previously estimated the county will save almost $6,800, but she’ll present a more precise figure tonight.
Only the towns of Medaryville and Monterey have offices on the ballot this year. Medaryville had no contested races within each party, and Monterey plans to hold a town convention later this year.
