Funeral Services Today for Knox Assistant Fire Chief, Former Starke County EMA Director

A longtime Starke County firefighter and emergency management official will be laid to rest today. Ted Bombagetti passed away Sunday at the age of 63.

He had been a volunteer firefighter for 40 years, most recently serving as the assistant chief of the Knox-Center Township Fire Department. Bombagetti was also the Starke County Emergency Management Agency director, before stepping down in 2015 to take a position with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. There, he served as the District 2 coordinator, overseeing seven counties in north-central Indiana, including Starke, Marshall, and Pulaski.

Funeral services are this morning at 11 CDT at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox. Memorials may be given to the Knox-Center Township Fire Department.
