The West Central School Board members selected a new superintendent in a specially called meeting Thursday night.
Dan Zylstra takes over as the sixth superintendent at the West Central School Corporation on July 1 after serving as the West Central Elementary School Principal since August of 2012. He replaces Don Street who assumes the superintendent’s position at Kankakee Valley School Corporation on July 1.
Zylstra previously taught music education at the School City of Hammond and at Lansing Christian School. Zylstra is currently working on his doctorate in education from Indiana University.
