Cracked asphalt continues to be a concern for Eastern Pulaski school officials. The pavement apparently began cracking a few months after last year’s $2.4 million project.
Discussions between the project engineer and paving contractor are ongoing, according to outgoing school superintendent Dan Foster. “We have met with Rieth-Riley representatives and Jim Stevens, who’s our Gibraltar representative,” Foster says. “And I know he submitted a suggested proposal to Rieth-Riley, to work on our cracks and our seal-coating and some things like that, and we’re waiting back on that.”
Last year’s project involved resurfacing the driveways and most of the parking lots on the schools’ campus, along with curb and sidewalk repair.
