Knox Police Department Prepares for Golf Cart Obstacle Course Event

The Knox Police Department wants to put your skills to the test with their Golf Cart Obstacle Course at Wythogan Park this weekend.

The event will be held on Saturday, June 29th. Registration will start at 10 a.m. and the event will kick-off an hour later at 11. No entry or admission fees are required.

The obstacle course will be a time event and based on a point system. Anyone who does not have a golf cart but would like to participate will be allowed to use one of the carts that the PD has onsite.

Police Chief Harold Smith shared that the winner will walk away with a first place trophy and a free golf-cart permit for next year! Those who attend the event can enter a drawing to win a fireworks package donated by Redneck Pyros.

There are a few rules to keep in mind if you’re planning to attend. For example, only gas or electric carts will be allowed, all drivers must have a valid driver’s license and all golf carts should have an up-to-date city or county permit.

Those who plan to participate must have a driver and at least one passenger in the vehicle.
