An ordinance to “thaw” Pulaski County’s property tax levy freeze will be up for final approval during a special county council meeting tonight. The measure would allow the tax levy to increase within the limits set by the state’s growth quotient.
For the past several years, the county’s been trying to get that revenue increase through a local income tax, but there hasn’t been enough income tax revenue to keep up. Tonight’s special Pulaski County Council meeting starts at 6:00 EDT at Pulaski County Highway Garage.
