More than $1,000 was raised by the Starke County Young Professionals Group through their five-month Trivia League that wrapped up last month.
A total of $1,060 was raised from the trivia events that were held January through May on the final Thursday of each month.
The purpose of these events was to not only give community members something fun to do, but to help bring in business to local establishments across the County.
Of the money raised, $100 went into the gift basket that was awarded to the winning team which means $960 remains in the group’s budget.
With that money in hand, riding the momentum from the successful trivia league, group members are currently considering what the next big event should be. There have been discussions about potentially hosting a softball tournament and perhaps holding some additional pop-up trivia games.
The consistent attendance at trivia nights over the last few months was promising, however, officials are searching for more members to join the group who can contribute ideas and help plan for future events.
Whether you work in an office, from home, at a factory or out in the field, your input would be valuable to this group which is aimed at providing a platform for the community’s working youth.
The group plans to meet next week at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 13th. The meeting will be held at ‘Strange Cloudz Vape’, a new business located at 11 South Main Street in Knox.
If you’re unable to attend the meeting it person, it also will be streaming live on the Starke County Young Professionals Group Facebook page.
