Winamac Town Council Approves Contracts for Wastewater Upgrade Project

Winamac Town Council members approved contracts for their Wastewater Upgrade Project when members met Monday night.

The Town of Winamac is conducting an ammonia removal project at their Wastewater Treatment Plant to fulfill and Indiana Department of Environmental Management requirement. The Town was able to secure a $700,000 grant through the Office of Community and Rural Affairs for this project.

Town council members selected RE Crosby Construction to do the work back in March, after they submitted the lowest bid.

During this week’s meeting, Wastewater Foreman Barry Day said that crews will get started after July 4th

Town Manager Brad Zellers added that the contract gives the company 240 days to complete the work, however, he expects it to be finished sooner than that.
