Winamac Town Council Considers Hazard Mitigation Plan Resolution

The Winamac Town Council members considered a resolution related to the Town’s hazard mitigation plan when they met Monday night.

The council members were anticipating a presentation from Brian Gaillard about the resolution. However, he was unable to attend the meeting.

Rather than pushing it off, members looked over the document themselves. They thought that everything appeared to be in order, except for one error that was identified by Councilwoman Judy Heater.

She noted, “This is resolution number one of 2019. Down, next to the last whereas it says this updates the existing multi-hazard mitigation adopted in June of 2019 so I think that’s a typo.”

Town Manger Brad Zellers confirmed that the statement should reference the existing plan which was adopted in 2016 or 2017.

They voted unanimously to approve the resolution with the stipulation that the incorrect date would be amended to reflect the last time they adopted a hazard mitigation plan.
