There are some additional Special Education classes that will be offered to the Eastern Pulaski School Corporation as well as the Logansport Community Schools through the JESSE Cooperative in an agreement considered by the Eastern Pulaski School Board members Monday night.
Previously, Eastern Pulaski was a part of the Logansport Area Joint Special Services Cooperative, but it dissolved at the end of June.
The agreement before the school board on Monday night would allow Eastern Pulaski and Logansport Community Schools to share instructional services, supplemental services, and other special education services that are “not economically feasible to provide individually.” Classes will be held at the Eastern Pulaski School Corporation with the understanding that the school would not be responsible for the transportation of students from Logansport.
Interim Superintendent Dr. Gib Crimmins said there are several kinks that need to be worked out in the arrangement, but the Special Education Services agreement needs to be put in place.
The school board members approved the agreement with a unanimous vote.
