Plane Crash Survivor Expected to Make Full Recovery

The pilot of a crop dusting plane that crashed in southern Starke County Sunday evening is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.

The Starke County Sheriff’s Department says 38-year-old pilot Daniel Divine, of Rockport, Indiana, suffered head and back injuries after his plane went down in a corn field near U.S. 35 and County Road 800 South.  Divine was airlifted from the scene by Medflight.

The Starke County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Bass Lake-California Township Fire Department and Starke County EMS.  

Divine was working for Bluebird Ag, LLC with locations in Knox and Veedersburg, according to police. 

No other details of the crash have been released.  The crash remains under investigation with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
