Starke County Commissioners to Meet Tonight

The Starke County Commissioners will review a nuisance ordinance when they meet tonight.  The ordinance, if eventually adopted, would appoint an enforcement officer and that officer shall have the authority to declare, in certain cases, inoperable vehicles, junk and debris a detriment to the health, safety and welfare as public nuisances to the residents of Starke County.  The ordinance is designed to resolve the issue of public nuisances.

The commissioners will hear from a resident from the Bass Lake area to discuss roads and drainage issues and they will consider a request for a four-way stop at 700 S. and 250 W.

Starke County EMS Director Travis Clary and Clerk Mary Lynn Ritchie will present their monthly reports as will Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler.  The Communications Committee will have a report and an update for the commissioners.

An amendment to the Solid Waste agreement will also be considered when the Starke County Commissioners meet tonight at 6 p.m. CT in the ground floor meeting room in the Starke County Annex No. building at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
