Starke County Republican Party Chair Dave Kesvormas is filling out his leadership team. On Friday, he appointed Bernadette Welter-Manuel as vice chair.
“She came with several high recommendations from several key elected officials in the party,” Kesvormas says, “and we went ahead and went forward with making that appointment.”
Welter-Manuel serves as the Starke County clerk. As vice chair, Kesvormas says she’ll be expected to help with the day-to-day operations of the organization, as well as helping to promote the county’s candidates at election time. “As a member, she’s a great asset, and I think in her new capacity, she will be a huge asset to our team,” he adds.
Welter-Manuel takes over the vice chair position from Kesvormas, who was promoted to party chair during a caucus just over a month ago.
